Cards |
The
official currency in Germany is the Euro. Exchange facilities are
offered to participants at the airport, in hotels, at cash machines
or at the exchange desk of banks (Opening hours:

The majority of shops and restaurants accept credit cards. |

Insurance |
It is recommended that
delegates arrange for appropriate travel and health insurance prior
to traveling. |

Language |
The official language
is German. English is widely spoken. The conference language is

Liability |
The conference
organizer will bear no liability for loss, accident, damage or
injury to persons or property irrespective of the cause. The client
participates at all sessions, tours and events at his/her own risk.
Sole place of jurisdiction is Munich, Germany. German law is
applicable. |

Metric System |
Germany uses the metric
system of weights and measures. Temperatures are given in degrees
Celsius; distances and speed limits are indicated in kilometers;
dimensions in meters and centimeters; volume in liters and
milliliters; weights in kilograms and grams. |

Parking |
800 parking slots are available at the Congress Center Hamburg CCH.
Parking tickets cost 2 € per hour or 14 € per day. |

Restaurants |
There is a wide variety
of restaurants and cafés in Hamburg ranging from the elegant and
sophisticated to the casual and inexpensive. Starting from fresh
fish up to foreign specialities of all kinds: concerning eating out
and feasting Hamburg ranges in the top league. |

Smoking |
Smoking is forbidden by law in public transportation and in public
buildings. Smoking is not permitted inside the conference building.
|
|
Taxi |
Taxis are indicated by the word „Taxi“ written on the top and they
are usually off-white coloured. It is compulsory for them to use a
taximeter that can also give a receipt.

Tipping |
Tipping is optional,
but normally 10 % is customary in taxis, restaurants and bars. |

Visa |
EU
nationals do not require a visa to enter Germany. Generally
speaking, all other foreigners require a visa for stays in Germany.
A visa is not required for semi-annual visits of up to three months
for nationals of those countries for which the European Community
